Clio 1.2 16 Extreme - Clutch Problem

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone could maybe help me. I can't get used to my friggin biting point. The clutch is so high - the garage i got it off said it has always been like that. I've opened up the bonnet and found the clutch cable but i need to lower the bite. I've tried twisting it to tighten it but nothing really happens. Apprently there is a clip you can get?

Any ideas?

Clutch is auto adjusting, nothing you can do about it i'm afriad. You'll just have to get used to it, there all the same give or take i've had 3 and all have had a narrow and high bite.

mine was like that so i replaced the clutch and it was fine!

I changed the clutch in my 1.6 twice and it never really changed. The 172 has the deepest bite i've all of them i've had.

The only thing you could do is try resetting the adjuster.

yeah i put a clutch in my 1.2 and the biting point didnt really change.
even with it being high at least its a nice positive bite

I find tbh its borderline on or off but there is a nice happy slip point its just finding it, its not the best but once you've got used to it you'll be fine.

As said clutch is quite high, but now I'm used to it I quite like it.

i like that though - really like the feel of paddle clutches..
cant stand a car with what id describe as a sloppy clutch where theres no positive feeling of it slipping and not slipping

my old 1.2 clutch got really high then was much better when changed but still high compaired to other cars, you get used to it though and find other cars hard to drive at first lol
