Clio 172 Turbo - decat?

I've done some reading on here but nothing specific to a boosted 172 that I can see.

Question:

My 172 Turbo was mapped at EFI with standard cat in place.

Would it benefit from a decat as it stands?

Would it benefit in terms of what? making more power?

better flow is always beneficial if its a restriction. Will it be a gain enough worthy of getting it removed, having the map checked and tweaked and then sorting things come mot time.

It would be worth firing EFI an email to see if they have enough safety in the map to deal with straight removing it.

I appreciate putting the cat back on for MOT time is always gonna be a ball ache but hoping putting the decat on will free her up a bit.

Ive emailed Chris at EFI but being the holiday period, I've yet to receive a response!

The afr's aren't on the limit, so I'd like to say there's wiggle room for running a little leaner if that's what the decat would do without a map, but I'm far from an expert in these things!

As you say, I'll see what EFI say.

I got offered a decat for a very reasonable price, though I may opt for a freer flowing sports cat at some point.

The change in exhaust back pressure may also change the boost pressure increasing flow further again, defo wait for the experts advice
