I might be setting my Clio 182 aside as my second car rather than my daily driver. Does anyone do classic or specialist second car insurance policies for these?
Hi,
We have future classic car schemes that could cater for this model of vehicle. If you would like a quotation then please feel free to PM me some contact details and I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.
Any specialist insurer should be able to offer a low mileage discount etc.
Also of the cars are fairly standard, try admiral multicar as they can sometimes come up trumps for more than one vehicle on a single policy with one being the daily and one on reduced mileage. Limited mods allowed though.
I finally spoke with Adrian Flux today and the best that they could do with a 6k limited policy was double what I pay for my current insurance with 12k mileage including business use. In terms of feedback, not competitve at all. Your underwriters didn't want the business it looks.
Coops Mk1,
Admiral are a bit more expensive than my current insurer. Which specialists do you suggest for the Clio 182?
Not sure how old you are etc but I pay around £250 a year for my track car with a 3k limited mileage policy, all mods declared with Greenlight, I’m 33 with cloned 16 years no claims they call it, obviously I can’t use my no claims on two cars but they take them into account as such. Give them a try.
I ended up going with Aviva this year. Previous years I've always paid around £450-500 with Greenlight and Sky. Aviva wanted £250, and i managed to get £50 cashback via topcashback, so total cost was £200. That for 12k a year and business miles with mod's declared and only £150 excess
Info for anyone else, I've discovered if you have had a claim within twelve months of asking for a quote from greenlight they cannot proceed in providing a quotation.
Aviva were in the high hundreds and Adrian Flux wanted double what I am paying now for 12k and business use (over 1k).
I will have 4 years no claims on my every day car policy and had a collision in March (value at £850) and was deemed at fault.
At 28 I would have thought finding reasonable cover wouldn't be difficult.
