clio door shut line help

does anyone know how to adjust the doors on a clio 182, when i say adjust i mean that the door does not sit flush (the door sticks out) with the rest of the back panel, its more so at the bottom of the door.

any ideas

try adjusting the lock where the catch catches onto... bring it outwards about 2 mil. should be 2 torques bits, or just one in the middle of the catch

tried that, well i undid the 3 bolts that hold the lock in that didnt do anything,do you mean something else, is there anything else ?

the one on the b post, not the catch on the door, you know the small bar that sticks out, pull it outwards a bit.. the door will catch sooner then and should make the door stick out that little bit

yea take the door in a bit. undo the 2 torques bits on the bottom pic, and push it a couple of mil towards the black rubber, tighten, shut door.. do it til your happy

it moves all around, if you loosen it you can move it in a circle, the holes am elongated for allignment. make sure you hold it when you undo the 2 torques bits cus itll probly drop .. so hold it.. undo 2 torques.. push inwards a bit.. tighten back up

your joking right !!??, (thats not being funny), its just renault repair place said it will cost £70 to fix

thats how to allign a door if it dont sit flush with wing/quarter.

if the gaps aint even then you goto the hinges and mess with those. you jus gotta play with the catch til it catches at the right point.

no probs :)

well mine sticks out a bit more at the bottom, and looks ok at the top ??, will the catch do that, if not can i do anything to the hinges

open the door full and have a look at the bottom hinge, more than likely look like this

you wanna undo your 2 x 13 mil bolts, pull the door inwards or the hinge outwards slightly, then tighten it back up. that should pull the bottom of the door out slightly.

is the door out to the wing aswell or just the quarter? if it aint out to the wing then it will be when you adjust it

Smack the service manager in the mouth, he is talking bollox.
he was the warranty manager, and he showed me it in the warranty book, wtf can i do

give it a blast, should all lign up if you do it.

open the door fully, undo the 2 bottom bolts while the doors on your knees, pull it towards ya at the bottom then tighten the bolts up while your pullin

shut it, keep doin it til youve got it right.

you possibly, doubtful though, may need to undo the bottom bolt of the top hinge, just so its easier to pull it inwards at the bottom

I got the same story with a rattling drivers window from Renault in Birmingham.

Went to a franchise dealer and the had a look, no argument at all. They did scratch the inside paintwork of my door though.

nah thatll take all of the door inwards, if its just the bottom then the bottom of the door needs tweakin/persuading. but try it anyway, it could make it alot better than it is, save goin to renault

dunno about this hinge rod they were on about?

its been to 2,theres only one more left around here and they only have on bodyshop, and thats the one i have been to, they cant authorise repairs so it needs to come from a dealer and there all owned by the same company

Cant believe no-one has said this yet.

Contact Renault Customer Services UK, tell them the problem, that you took it to one of there Official Renault dealers, and was basically told to piss off.

Make sure you tell them which dealer it was. Bet you that you will get a phonecall back from the original dealer telling you to bring your car in and they will fix it, and later a phonecall from Renault Customer Services UK asking you if the problem has been properly fixed.

Dont take any sh*t from them, and dont do it yourself !!

sh*t, just read your post saying youve paid to have it done.. heres what to do.

Phone Renault Customer Services and tell them what you have had to do (taken it to bodyshop to get fixed after you dealer refused etc) tell them you can provide them with the reciept for the work carried out.

You should at the very least get vouchers for money off your next service, at best you will get all your money back.
