Clio EDC Gearbox Oil Leak

  CLIO RS 200T EDC
Does anyone have a video showing how to top up gearbox oil on a Clio EDC? I have a patch on my undertray where I’m getting a small leak from directly under the gearbox not a huge amount but definitely leaking I’ve had a specialist take a look who couldnt find the issue only to just keep topping it up, the drive shaft seals seem dry it looks like where the box is joined together underneath maybe, The car is on 55k miles maybe I should think about selling it now?

I’d be going to a different specialist…!

55k is baby miles. Find the issue, fix the issue and keep it! I’ve changed my gearbox oil but for the life of me I can’t remember where the fill plug is but you will need a length of hose and a funnel to do it.

I'm sorry, but even considering selling a car based on a small oil leak is crazy!

As @Sash says - find someone with a bit more experience with the RS models. Even if it's a few £hundred of labour charges to get it fixed - it's nothing in comparison to the remainder of a fully working car.

Whereabouts are you located?

P.s mines on 132k miles…. They’re a bloody good car in a world of modern, unreliable, over complicated bullish!t.

Thanks for your replies

l’m based in the East Midlands there is a Renault specialist near me who has already re-sealed all the bolts on the unit which cured it for a while but a recent service showed otherwise, Most other auto gearbox shops I went to pretty much didnt want to know and gave me quotes of around £1500 based off no diagnosis what so ever which is frustrating me. Its such a small leak its really hard to find the source just looking underneath other than wiping small amounts of oil from underneath

Box oil leak usually means new clutches time!

I'd be looking at getting it on the rollers to make sure it's not slipping

ive done oil change on my mk4 rs edc and its £80 for the oil from renault. renault dc0/dc4 oil. 2 litres required. drain is on bottom of gear stick. jack passenger side up and remove wheel and look on gearbox near drive shaft and should see a white plastic nut/wingnut style on mine. remove that after draining and refitting drain plug. fill till leaks out and refit. thats oil changed

1 minute in to the video, middle over to the right
