1.2 MK2 PH2
Hello!
I've not posted much but been a long time reader of cliosport and though I'd ask the experts.
I have a rattle on my engine (02 Rer Clio 2 Phase 2) it sounds like its coming from the fan belt/water pump area. Theres no loss in power from what I can tell and everything ticks over fine ect. I used to drive 40+ miles a day in my car for work so over the year I've went through a few ltr's of oil! Which at first did worry me but on further investigation this is apparantly normal (Over 14k miles in a year) Anyway back to my question!
The "clio rattle" assuming this could be a number of things I investigated. it seems to have a rattle near the pump/fan belt! I thought it went away the when revs went past 1000 but it dosn't it just gets faster and blends in with engine noise! Could this be the dreaded engine mount fault or something worse like a head gasket?
I work at citroen and have a autoprotect warranty for fault (so its not going to renault so I can be stiffed!) I'll be bringing it to work but I'd rather know what to expect than get the lads to suprise me!
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Anth.
