Clio red lines by itself ?

My car wouldnt start a few days ago and we came to the problem that the spark plugs where not sparking.

I didnt know why this was happening so i took it to my local garage.

They got it started and then when it started it hit the limiter by it self.

Then everytime he turned it on, the car just kept red lineing by itself.

Does anyone know why this is doing this, because the guy at the garage didnt know. Lol

What Clio is it (I guess it's a 1.4 but what model/year) ?

Throttle body is sticking open.

Either needs cleaning, or throttle sensor by sounds of it.

Hows your throttle peddle feel, not sticky? check the butterfly in the throttle bodie & see if its near enough closed, may have some thing holding it open, this would make it hard to start & when it does it would let it rev up quickly, when you take the plugs out of the 1.4 do you need to remove the inlet mani like the sports? if so make sure you used a new gasket as a leaking one will let the engine rev up & run rough too

the air fuel sensor thingemy? mine did it when i done the induction kit plugged it in properly and it was fine

mine did this after the battery went. start it up drop the clutch put it in first and take your foot of the clutch and stall it...then start it up again and should run fine.
