clio to lexus?

gotta say, lookin a some of prices of is200s now, it is a lot of car for the money.

reliability, decent badge, and pretty comfortable, think i might pick one up myself.

  182 Cup
I've driven a couple of IS200 sports long term. Very comfortable, though not massive inside, lots of toys - the heated seats were lovely. Nice and planted feel to it, but most definately did not like to play! It never felt happy when the tail came out, so it wasn't long before I just stopped trying. The traction control kills any sort of fun in an instant anyway (along with around 80% of the power!).

I'm only aware of cosmetic differences between SE and Sport (but I'm no expert) - The sports have a nice looking kit, lower suspension and nice looking 18" wheels (that corrode badly! Check them on any IS you're thinking of buying).

The straight six engines are exceptionally smooth, but lack real punch. Nice six speed box, but has an annoying beeping when put in reverse! The metal gear knob is also nasty to touch on cold winter mornings!

Overall a nice and comfortable ride, but not much fun. The sports do look very nice indeed though and will deffinately get you noticed in you go for the rediculously bright yellow they offered.

cheers guys for the comments ,just need to sell the wee car now, which ive had for 2 and a half years, its been a great car, and decide which 200 model and colour to go for :banghead:

I've heard that they are expensive to run. My mates sisters bloke has one, looks a really nice car (his is grey) Not quick at all though (if you want quicker one, maybe go for a the is300)

- I also believe that JR on here runs one too, he'd be a good person to ask (hope you don't mind me saying James)

  RS 172
Speak to DanCup, he has just sold his Cup and is getting a Lexus soon. May have it already actually.

  Damage repaired
I owned an IS200 sport a few years back.In a nutshell, great car, very reliable, drove lovely, engine has a fair bit of torque, pulls quite well from 30mph in 6th gear but they are thirsty, costs for servicing was quite high i thought and if anything goes wrong, expect large bills.
