  An old banger!

welcome dude theres quite a few v6 owners ! sure one will be around soon

Thanks for that guys;)

As for Mk1 or 2 ltll probably be a Mk1 based on what I have to spend.................£15500 + over £3k for insurance.

I just missed one yesterday..........a 2002 with 3,300 miles priced at £14,995.

So if anyone knows where there is one then Im your man.................not bothered about colour but must be accident free and have a full service history.

And thanks again for the welcome guys.

Cya Stuart

my pal is selling his 51 reg, mk1, 5100 miles, FSH, 100% mint. silver.

for £15k id imagine it would be hard to find a low miller.

pm if interested.

Gee that was fast.

Yeah it sounds like exactly what Im after although I would probably stick to the £15K mark for it...................no offence intended.

There are a few low milers out there I just have to get round and view them..................I just missed a 2002 with 3300 miles for £14995 yesterday.

Yeah I know Simo.....................Ive been looking around for one locally that I could test drive but there doesnt appear to be any in Scotland.................I have only ever seen one stting in a showroom, so I havent even heard them running and I have never seen any out on the road.

So I only hope they are as good as all the write ups say they are or it will be a VERY long way to go for nothing.

From what I can gather from V6 owners on here (any maybe steve can confirm as hes had both!), Mk.1s & Mk.2s are different beasts, make sure your not reading Mk.2 write-ups with regards to a Mk.1s & vica-versa.

has anyone here modified/tuned their V6 to extremes of power output? id be interested to know the details of any such tuning and also the potential of the vee

stu,

you can see my mates one for sale on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9861&item=2488165676&rd=1http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9861&item=2488165676&rd=1

he im moving to italy so selling his cars.

the mk2 is a totally different car, but the reviews for the mk1 make it out to be dangerous, which it isnt. i love mine, and although took some getting used to, it can be driven hard with no handling issues.

its the hooligan out of the 2 models IMO.

Good point sn00p.................Ive been reading both but now that I know what I have to spend Ive been concentrating on the Mk1.

If you know of any decent articles then just let me know yeah?

Cya Stuart

I have just had a look at the one on ebay......................it looks like a very nice car.

Can you give me anymore info about it.................how long has he had it for, has it had any paint or accidents etc etc?

Thanks Stuart

its done 5100 miles, i think he has had it for 1 year, no accidents or paint that im aware of, the car is 100% showroom condition. ive driven it myself and its sweet as. he dies however want £16500 for it though, but you could try and knock him down.

you get what you pay for. :)

i can give you his contact number if you want.

Thaks for that.........................what Ill do is..............if its still there at the end of the auction and I havent bought one by then Ill give him a call and we can go into battle over the price eh:D

Although one has just finished.........19000 miler rite enough...........but made only £13500 and did not make the reserve....................there was also a 2004 that sold for £21000.

Also, without wishing to appear rude you may be better to find someone who has a bigger number next to their name ie has more of a proven track record on ebay.......................just a thought and no offence intended.

Thanks Stuart

stu,

i thought that too mate. well, i dont think feedback ratings are an issue when its a car as youll collect it and pay then.

Yeah youre probably rite there........................the car..........................does it have a tracker fitter................RAC Trackstar for instance?

Cheers Stuart

PS where are you lads located?

they all have RAC trackstar as standard.

its not my car mate, its a friends. mine is staying with me - even lower miles.

he is based in south london, so a fair drive, but nowhere is too far for a good car IMO.

London.........................no sweat...........................my dad bought a new car just in May from Bunham garage in Slough..........................he flew down at 9 in the morning and was back here (500miles) at 10 past nine that evening...........................sooooooo as I say London no problem.

If he lives near Burnham garage the 2 lads my dad was dealing with were Tom and Martin they will remember as its not everyday that someone goes on a 1000 mile round trip to get a car............................my dad always does that.

Cya Stuart

Oh yeah I nearly forgot.........................I dont know what age you or your buddy are but can either of you suggest anywhere that might give me a better quote than £3146 for insurance?

Thanks Stuart

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............................20:D..............................how old are you Simon.............................and where do you get your insurance?

Stuart

PS I forgot the 50p................£3146.50p:cool:

stus,

im 23 and pay £2200 for my insurance, no NCB.

i tried elephant and they were competitive, but i have a mate who works in insurance so got the £2200 which was the cheapest.

£2200 with ZERO NCB:eek:.............................Im £3146 and I have 60% NCB................so whos your mate in the insurance business then eh;)

Cya Stuart

PS Id still rather be 20:D:D
