CLIO WILLIAMS SUSPENSION

  Renault clio wiiliam
Hi guys , so i am thinking of purchasing a coilover kit for my clio 1 , car is on r19 wishbones and right now it has some koni yellow which are adjustable on rebound if i am correct and because they are leaking and probably they are 25+ year old i am in search of coilover. First things first car's use is track days and b road driving , no daily driver , is got a roll bar bucket and harness , the only option i have found is the gaz gold kit which is fully adjustable but i dont know what spring rate to use , do you have any recommendations? Gaz suggest 375lbs , i dont know what springs the car has right now but it feel soft on track , i wait for your recomendations .
Happy new year to everyone !

I run kw v2 coilovers, which are koni inserts and 3 way adjustable rears, think fronts are 15 way adjustable.

Standard rear torsion bars and 182 trophy front arb and whiteline rear arb

I've tried firmer springs, 550lb, but ruined the handling so went back to the kw recommended 340lb for the kit so 375 should be okay. Basically even with larger rear torsion bars these cars prefer a bit of roll up front to keep the balance right ime

I honestly agree that a bit softer set up is more for all french cars so i tend to 375 , in front arb is stock willy i think 23mm , so maybe i will go that way ....do you have clio 1 or 2?

Both, but I'm talking about the mk1 setup here, but my car runs full mk2 sport running gear, so engine, gearbox, front suspension setup bar the coilivers which are Williams

I see... So also i am thinking about the adjustable rear hubs so i can adjust camber and toe at the same time... Have you use anything like that ?

Nah i never bothered in the end as my beam geo is spot on as it is and car handles perfectly so don't want to change anything. Plenty of others have though
