Cliosport Clutch Issue

Hi All,

My 172 has been "resting" for a number of years whilst my 2 kids took over my life. Over the past few weeks i have been purchasing items to get it back how it should be and on those open roads.

The usual servicable items are all ready to be cracked on with, however i noticed last night that when i put my foot on the clutch, the pedal just sinks to the carpet and doesnt ping back up.

Is there anything that i could be possibly missing, apart from a workin clutch

Snapped clutch cable? Take the airbox out and have a gander.

i did think this, but i couldnt understand how it would randomly snap whilst being stored...... il check that out cheers

If it’s been laid up then it may have just ceased in that time. Doesn’t take much for the cable to get gummed up due to lack of use.

Fingers crossed its something simple! It is french after all!

To be fair, i was quite impressed the electrics still worked after so long unused! Clutch was far down the list of expected issues.
