Have you turned the brightness up? Little wheel in the small panel on the right of the steering wheel

1.2's dont have that. Only to manually adjust the headlights.

Only got the headlight adjuster

It will require top dash off, which is easy enough. Theres a guide on here somewhere. Not sure on what bulbs, as I never bothered changing mine!

What are those plastic levers he uses? They seem really useful!

plastic pry bars, not really needed, infact you can get the strips off with just your fingers. They are cheap off ebay and the likes though and will come in handy over time.
