clunking noise

Dont really know whether this is mechanical or not but when i pull off in 1st i get a clunking noise that sounds as though it is from the n/s somewhere (mk2 172). i thought it was towards the rear but passengers hav said it semms as though it is just behind them. Happens when accelerating or if braking rapidly and is a dull clunk. Doesnt happen if i pull off very slowly or when moving thro gears etc. it is not the clunk when you ut the gearbox in 1st that many have experienced on a 172. Anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions? could it be something sticking or what? Thanks

Not sure but could be the engine mount??
