Clutch cable

Car  A SHED!

My clutch cable has snapped on my 16v and I need it for that liverpool cruise on fri. Are they easy to get hold of???

Bit of a job to fit. Also most people say only buy a genuine part from renault or it will just snap again.

Also worth replacing the pedal at the same time if you have an older car because they changed the design slightly.

i dont know about the clio but changing the clutch cable on my old 205 GTi was quite easy.. 10 minutes maximum.

I dont know how the cable is routed in the clio though.

126.69 inc VAT for Clutch cable, Moddified Pedal fitted at local garage. Shouldnt really charge more than that!

I am sure you can get it cheaper than £125. Look at some other garages, I am sure they can get a genuine part for less than that.

Paul

i paid £70 for the cable and fitting. wouldnt do it urself unless ur very patient cos its a complete pain in the arse.

No I aint gonna do it myself. Its just urgently needed for Friday......aghhhh!! I knew something would go wrong just before the cruise! bugger. it was dropped off wednesday afternoon. Reckon it would be done for friday afternoon???

Ouch! They saw u comin Dust. :o

i caa do it in 2 and a half hours :D if you live near liverpool and still need the cable the Renault in St. Helens have one (Dutton James i think) id never pay that much for the pedal and cable, even if it took 3 days to fit myself.

yea as paul says, dutton james should have one in.....they did have 2 but paul just bought one...

if you need to know where it is then me/paul could meet you somewhere

Cheers lads well im gonna ring the garage up later and if they aint got one to replace it with then its trip to dutton james

Cable isnt too dear, about 15 quid from eurocarparts or the german, swedish, french place.

God knows about fitting. And I doubt the 126 quid price is incorrect that was mentioned above considering it included the new pedal assembly and fitting.

Jeez thought that would be loads from Renault. So about 40 quid in parts and 90 quid labour. Typical for a valver.

Including labour it cost £33 not bad. But my head gasket has just blown for the second time in two weeks:sick:. I must say the relieabilty of clios isnt very good

Depends on ur attitude & how good ur car is? Mine is as reliable as a Merc (so far)!

How the fu*k can u blow a 16v head gasket at all anyway? Unless uve got some silly mods or a greese monkey to re-fit ur head? :o

Does ur rev limiter work? ;)
