How much would it cost for a new clutch for a mk2 172?

Please too ... coz my clutch is feeling very skinny!

Reckon the real cost will be the labour ... so if anybody has had it done what was the labour involved? Engine out, or sub-frame off?

When mine goes, reckon Ill go for an uprated Group N from K-Tec @ £295+VAT.

Does their standard clutch kit cover the 172/Cup? Had always assumed not ... and havent asked David (yet).

My Cup clutch would have cost me approx £480 inclusive. (Renault Main Dealer)

But I threatened to come back every week with a new rattle unless they did it under warranty!

If I still had my Cup - I would have gone for the Group N spec next time, wothout a doubt. Itll probably last a lot longer and cost less.

if my clutch ever goes im going to stick the group n one in it.clutch at a dealer mugen would cost about £500.most of that price is the labour.

Jay ... how many hours do you reckon to do a clutch? Pretty tight in there, so is it an engine out job, or can you drop the subframe or something?

subframe off mate.not a to bad job but you need help to lift the subframe and the gearbox on and off.i think you get about 5 hours labour.
