clutch peddle stiff ?

my sister has just bought a 1.4s ph1 clio and the clutch peddle is realy stiff...it feels like it takes a while for peddle to come back up aswel is this normal ? or is there something i can do to free it up a bit ?

Get a clutch cable change would be my first port of call.

If no joy then a clutch change but these clutches are stiffish anyway but shouldnt be like you described.
