Every now and again (not often) the EML comes on which is throwing up the P0420 code - Catalyst system efficency below threshold (bank 1).
I replaced the post lambda sensor last year so its fairly new but then in doing so the boss on the cat crumbled off. I took it to a local exhaust place who welded a boss back on for me, I didn't realise at first but they pointed out that the cat wasn't the right one and that it was off a Ford (previous owners! I'd not owned the car long). I know the cat would work no matter but it didn't seem in the greatest condition so would it be best to replace the cat?
Its just a pain as I'd have to modify a new cat to fit my Milltek exhaust as the one on has a sleeve welded to fit.
