Code - P1300 .. 02 sensor circuit malfunction

Plugged the car into the reader and this was the fault code - P1300 .. 02 sensor circuit malfunction (bank 1, sensor 1). I've been informed that this is the lambda sensor. Is there any way of knowing which one needs changed or is it just guesswork?

Yeah it's not running properly atal. Seem to be idling funny and overfuelling

As far as I remember its the pre cat lambda that controls the fuelling, also known as upstream.
The lambda after the cat is just for emissions so shouldn't affect running.

Also make sure you buy a decent one like Bosch as you shouldn't buy cheap when it comes to sensors.

That is the sensor before you catalytic converter, check the wiring and output of the sensor before fitting a new one.

What do you mean by output....is that something that will show up on the reader

Yes it will be in live data you can monitor the voltage output of the signal from O2 sensor to check its behaviour.
