Coilovers........

  Mazda MX5 1.8

basically over the last few weeks ive been seeing H&R mentioned and FK n all that but.........

just curious about KW and Cobra coilovers? would they be alright because after all most of our cars arent exactly supercars?

would be to go on a 1.6 16v clio

Personal choice at the end of the day. Just look at what is available, what it costs etc and go from there.

I looked at all those available and read reviews from people, not just on this site. Chose the FK ones cuz they use Koni internals, are TUV approved (so tested on the car) and came with a lifetime warranty and free fitting.

Yes ride height adjustable........You don´t need damping adjust. will cost you a fortune and as you said your car ain´t a supercar;)

My Clio is on H&R coilovers and handles awesome!!!! Wery good quality but they are not cheap.......

Remember to adjust the tracking after fitting/lowering......How low are you planing to go??

errr well ill go 40ish to start with then go as low as i can for usual weekly journeys but when we go down to the coast (to our caravan) ill need it raised up a bit as there is a off road section which is amazingly bumpy

The rear is easy to raise by your self, but the front i´m not sure....go for -60mm if your on 17´s and lower if on smaller rims.......-40mm is way too high;)

Coilovers will be much more benefit than IK, so would go for that first.

If you can get fitted free anyway go for H&R. You can get adjustable damping but TBH most people dont bother adjusting it even if they have it. Maybe on a track but when you find a setting youd stick to oit and that is probably close to a non adjustable damping set up anyway.
