cold start problem

Should a 172 start first time everytime?

Mine can be difficult to cold start even in our mildish weather at the moment,fuel pump and coil recently replaced to cure mid range miss,but the car still remains a difficult starter.It turns but just wont fire.

yea, they sometimes just wont start on the first turn.

We had one that just would randomly not start, hot or cold, and we replaced everything. Eventually a new loom sorted it.

what does the immobilser light do when it faults? most non start problems are down to the immobiliser system or the tdc sensor and/or its wiring.

possibly.

but my friends 1.4 16vs starter motor went, and while it was on its way out it left him trying to start the car loads of times before it actually came on.

the prob he has now, is that the revs drop V.low, due to the induction kit not giving it enough air while idling!

he says it turns over ok so that shows the starter motor is ok.
