Renault Clio 1.4 RT
My Mk1, Ph3 has been giving me real problems recently. About once every 6 mths it used to not start. This wasn't neccesarily from cold & we worked out that it was the starter motor. Where it's at the back of the engine & all the crap from the road gets chucked up onto it it used to clog up. All i'd have to do is clean the spade connector & it'd start.
I recently went camping for the w/end and after parking on the grass for 1 night, it wouldn't start. Thought it may just be damp & left it 4 about 1 hour, tried again, nothing, so boyf took a few spark plugs out, generally fiddled etc. & then it started. It did the same the next morning. Was fine for 4 mornings after that (after getting back from camping) & then did it again on my driveway.
Loads of different people have told me different things. Been told it's the cold start sensor, the ignition sensor, the starter motor, and the wiring. Has anyone else had this problem, can anyone suggest anything? Thanks
