Colour Coding and 172 Rear End

  Dynamique 1.2
Might be able to get a 172 rear end at a good price but I have just noticed that there is a cut out for the exhaust, does this mean you need to fit the sport or exhaust or just a general aftermarket exhaust to the fill the gap? Or will the standard exhaust show through?

Also when colour coding the bumpers / side strips can you just spray straight onto the plastic or do you have to do anything with them first?

Sorry, I am literally a total noob, hoping someone on here is feeling generous :p

Thanks

The cut out will vary on whatever exhaust it had before, you may not need any particular exhaust, especially if your exhaust is current hidden behind the bumper - you'll just have a cut-out for one. The standard one might show, not a terribly big deal depending onh ow big the cut out is.

You need to sand them down, coat them evenly in primer, then layer on the paint, let it dry, then spray on clear coat. Search on youtube for a few videos to see how it's done. You'll ideally need somewhere that's not going to be windy/dirty/dusty/damp as this will ruin the finish.

no problem buddy, Anything to kill time at the office!
If you're a novice sprayer, getting a a good looking finish on something like a bumper might be a bit difficult or daunting. I'd suggest you contact a local bodyshop and get a price for it, local place to me does a rear bumper for just over £150 for a professional finish. You might even be able to get a deal on colouring the whole lot!
