colour coding bump strips.. what stuff to buy?

  LY 182
need some advice if possible, im going to colourcode my side strips tommorow. i want to make them smooth (remove all the texture)

im not a novice to spraying i've sprayed alsorts for all different reasons but never plastic like this and never tryed to remove texture from something

what sort of stuff do i need and how would i go about it?

i take it i'll have to spray it with some sort of filler primer before wet and drying it down to remove the texture? o

as for stuff i need i known the obvious primer paint etc etc but any other products i need filler primers plastic primers etc i need to know

cheers

what about removing the texture? a mate (who use to be a sprayer) said sometimes on the old fiesta wing mirrors and etc that were textured black when you try to flat them down they go almost fluffy (if that makes any sence) and you have to spray something on it first? anyone shed any light

cheers for advice so far btw

nearly all plastics go "fluffy" when prepping them. bumpers, spoilers, sidestrips etc. just give them a wetflat after youve prepped them to remove it. then build up the primer to remove the actual texture.

you'll only need like P320 dry and p800 wet. thats it

If you have a hand sander like a black and decker you could use that to take off the majority of texture, wil save you a bit of time.

remove the texture slightly by wet an dry and buy a filler primer fills in the groves etc then wet nd dry that down removing high spots and then repeat with the primer untill you get a smooth finish (will trake some time but its all a reward at the end ) then apply your first coat of colour (white i guess in your case)build that up coat after coat ,leaving it to go tacky inbetween coats then you can wet and dry any imperfections out of that before laquer

this is the way i paint anyway
