Colour coding bumpstrips

Is this a DIY job or not?? I would like to have a stab but don't want to muck it up.
Wasn't there an FAQ/guide to assist with this posted a while ago?? As I can't find it.

i did this about six months ago, painting the strips wasa nightmare because of the age, the paint kept fish eyeing, its really difficult to do because of cellulose in car wax that the car has been washed in apparently, i would suggest getting a spray shop to do it for a set price it would be a lot less hassle.
