they have to be flatted, then primed (over and over again, until smooth) then painted, they should in theory be the same texture as your metal paintwork
Well ill say something like "I heard the best way to get results is..." . Its just that i get mates rates from this guy as he knows my dad so i dont want to wind him up.
I dont think you should say to them "I heard the best way to get results is..." - that sounds like you are trying to tell them how to do their job.
Perhaps you could say that you have brought your car to them to get the work done because you heard that they do a first class job. That way they will realise that you want a GOOD job and you have also praised them indirectly. Maybe tell a little white lie and say that a mate of yours got a similar job done elsewhere and it wasnt done too well because they didnt seem to have prepared the surface properly.
I got my cousin to do my colour coding cause he works in the trade cost me £70 for handles, spoiler (plus my spoiler that sits on top of the standard one), bumperstrips & bits round the fogs. So i was well chuffed. Looks so much better when you colour code your car.
rob, just say to them: so, just out of interest, what process is involved in colour coding those parts?. If their answer does not contain what you want to hear, panic like a volvo driver changing into third.
