Column boot to bulkhead

I want to remove the column, what is the easiest way to remove this large boot thing at the bottom of the column?

It pulls out with the column.

how do I get at the UJ that connects to the rack to undo it? O thought I would need to get the cover out first, it just doesn't seem to want to move

Go in from drivers side wheel arch. 13mm nut on it.

What a total git of a job, got my old column out, new one in, but for the love of god I can't get the bolt back in the universal joint onto the rack, any advice guys spent an hour and a half and got nowhere

Never had a problem, you sure the pinion is the right was round? If it's 180 deg out then bolt won't go back in.

All fitted now, I have EPAS on my 182 Turbo
