the font is cack, and i hope that is not there logo?? lol... sort that.
general layout is good, dynamic and will house lots of content, but just like any other, looks like one of them layouts you can for free off a website.
still, will be an easy site to update and develop.

The logo is an issue as it has had a few bad comments. I am not a graphics designer so just stuck that in a place holder!
Question : "How do you know I am not a graphics deigner?"
Answer : "I didn't think it was that bad!!"
I am going to convert it all to css and play wioth the fonts etc once the client says ya . It was just my first rough design.
The idea would be to load contact in the two boxes or a single box depending on the requirements of each page.
Without getting into the depths of makign it database driven as this was not a requirement I will provide the client with simple text files that they can update each area of content without html knowladge.
Thats the general idea. Of course it would be nicer for me to make it fully content managed and database driven but the client isnt paying for that and I have quite a tight time frame.

Yeah I am planning to change it to CSS this week seemelessly so it doesnt effect the client. I really just did the site using tables to get it up as quickly as possible! If you look at the code there are a few other design no nos like font and style in the html rather than in css! Naughty Dave

cos tables are for tabular tata not for designing the structure of a site.
it means twice as much code if not more, and it really does cause more hassle thatn its worth.
if you do it using div's and css then you can do a lot more, and its optimized too!
the less code used, and the cleaner the layout the better the website.

Amen to that. I would have thought that trying to design a site with tables (and make it look how you want it) would have been more effort than CSS!
I've just discovered the joys of CSS, I'm not a web designer (or designer for that matter!) but I'm currently in the process of doing a site at work for us to sell some products on - I found CSS so much easier to work with.
Previously I'd used tables whenever I'd "dabbled" with site design and it was a PITA! Using (and learning) css this time made stuff sooooooo much easier and quicker.

Using CSS-P is a lot better than tables, as Adam said, tables are for tabular data not layout (historically, there wasn't much choice of course). However, CSS can be annoying when you're trying to get fiddly bits to work in IE5 mac, IE5.5 and IE6 PC, Firefox, Opera and Safari. Fix it in one - break it in another, tres annoying.

I used to use tables until my job meant that ihad to use css eventually.
I had to edit a tabular site the other day and it was a nightmare, never toching them again. css is the way forward, its easy to get it to work cross browser, just needs a bit of fiddling, i love a challange, plus craig is the king.

Yeah I used to work with CSS all the time when my job was more web design orientated. The last few years has been more pl sql, JAVA, and vb script and although some of it was web based I just plugged into other peoples designs. Just need to dust the cobwebs off but css is much better I agree totally. Will give a shout when the site is back up!
