Don't think that hd will make any differance to the picture on a xbox.
When you get a hdtv you have to also have a hdtv sky box to recive it which cost around £300, then you have to have the full package because there are only about 10channels that are broadcast in hd that is around £50 a month, for the privelage of having hd it cost an extra £10 a month. If you ask me it's a big rip off, don't get me wrong, the picture quality is mint but is it worth the £300 for the box and £60 a month?
Not to me it aint!:S

oh and yes the xbox and xbox 360 will look better on a hd set as will dvd's you dont need sky hd at all its just hog wash

so if im getting a new tv it would be worth while getting one which is 'HD ready' and just wait till its all a bit cheaper!! But it does improve the quality of DVD's and games? prob a couple of meters new house so bit unsure about the distance!!!

Xbox 360 are HD yes, and they look stunning!! The initial Sky boxs are codswallop, they advertise HD but they don't have HDMi ports, they all run by Component, best to wait until the next generation of sky boxs come out with HDMi connections on

Dont agree with you there about SkyHD

Looks fantastic on my 32" LCD and HD Projector. BUT its horses for courses really. I usually adopt this type of s**t early and I enjoy it even though it has only 10 channels.

Agree about the 360 looking far better on a HD set

samsung hd tvs are quality! deffently get a 26 inch samsung, from play.com they have good prices. i have the r73 32" one.

you dont agree that you dont need sky ?

you can easily watch sd stuff if you sit the correct distance. alot of the sky stuff at the moment isnt the best quality its all just resampled rather than native

im going to get the samsung 32" one in the next few weeks hopefully, connect it up to my pc too, which will be good :)

defenitely buy from the net, so much cheaper that going to dixons/ currys etc

Depends if you want HDMI. the component cables will give similar quality or a DVI will. All the HDMI port does over it is carry the audio. Most of us with high end stuff probably use external a/v amps and speakers anyway so it renders the HDMI port fairly useless to a lot of people who buy this kind of tech.

yeah i think its that one....*goes to check*

Samsung 32" LE32T51B HD Ready Widescreen LCD TV

thats the one im after. not sure how it differs to yours, as it looks similar, although yours has a silver/grey effect at the bottom of the casing? this one i want is £729 from play.com of all places, but seen it for £650 from misco, which seems a very good price considering its £1050 in currys!

^^ think thats one of the older models, the new ones are r74, r73, r72 and r71, pretty much the same tv just different colours and slightly different specs.

thats the one ^^^

mines slightly different, as per previous post, its black all the way round, whereas this one ^^^ has some silver round the bottom. i prefer the look of the all black one ;)
