Components + Tweeters with Standard Headunit

Is this possible? I read somewhere that the crossovers have to be wired to the headunit or something?

Not arsed about that, just wondering if it's possible.

Some crossovers (active) have to be powered, but this only needs to be a 12v, can be split from the lighter. The only reason they need to be connected to the HU is so the power switches on/off with the HU, but it's not the end of the world.
