Computer Question.

How do i find out what parts my computer has in it and what speed my internet is running at?

I know thats a really novice question sorry!

do a google seach for 'bandwidth speed test' and use that to test ur internet.

My computer properties will tell you how much RAM you have, what cup you have got. for all other go into the device manager, - my pc properties > hardware > device manager

Communications - 102.3 kilobits per second
1MB download - 1.4 minutes

Intel Pentium 3

Mobile CPU 1000 Mhz

729 Mhz

248 MB of RAM

Get one of two programs, SiSofts Sandra, or Everest home Edition, both should be free and will list all your connected components.

Right my PC is running at -

216 Kilobits per second

1 Mb download in 38.8 seconds.

And just downloaded the Sisoft thing, cheers for that.

I just use it for general stuff, college work, browsing the net, no gaming.

But im one of those people who likes to have the best of everything and my computer is letting me down!

I encode alot of DVD's and I only have:
2.8ghz Pentium 4
1024MB DDR Ram


So for most basic processes thats fine.

Internet is considered slow though NTL 10MB here!

Yeah my internet is painful!

I think we are with BT, any one know of faster providers?

Plus my network card for my laptop has given up for some reason so ive had to use the router from my 360.

Oh yeah my RAM is DDR too, does that make a difference? (im not a total idiot though - double data rate or something? )

i got an alienware pc, in purple, its great! but noisy cos its got a big cooling system. i am now nearly bankrupt though becos of it!
