connecting N70 to pc...

I have installed the nokia software for the usb cable provided and it says i have to 'get connected'

i use the cable usb thing and when it says plug the cable into your computer and your phone, i do this, but nothing else happens..... The compyter makes its funny chirp so that it recognises the phone is there but what else do i have to do!!!!! i don't understand! it just doesn't want to work! grrrrr

please help

well i am connected now but i t won't transfer any music or picstures from the phone... just seems to continually search for them.... ffs....

was gonna say 'it worked for me first time' but u got it working now, with this software every time i turn the laptop on the 'nokia pc sync' comes up and its well annoying!!!any ideas how to stop this?
have ya got a memory card?if so just use it as a usb flash drive thats how i get my music on!!!

for example here^^ for trying to transfer music.

and here^^^ for trying to get the pictures off the phone.. it just doesn't do anything else!!

i have the memory card but how do i access that from my computer? ta

go to my computer then go to nokia phone browser, then click this.Click n70 then will come up with a list of icons, click the E; drive and this will be the memory card and just drag and drop songs into this, works a treat once ya get hang of it

I have tried that and i get 'operation cannot be completed' grrrrrrr cheers though!

Did you install it properly, I'd start again, should go like so (i think lol)

Install drivers off CD, restart.

Plug in cable and phone and bottom right it should search for hardware, it should try and install something, click yes and is does this about 5-6 times, i told it go away first time thinking it was installing the same thing over and over but you need to do them all...

If you've done this sorry for being patronising either way I'd try and go from scratch maybe..

i had to install nokia pc suite twice to get it to work. Easiest way is to buy a usb dongle, then you can just right click a file and send to your phone with one click.
you can still synchronise with your phone and pc suite if you need to.

pc suite off the cd didnt work for me.

go to the nokia website and get the latest drivers from there - that cured my probs!

Agree with Daze . I never use the cd , i always get the latest software from nokias website .

is everyone using and installing the pc suite or just the drivers?

try uninstalling it completely and getting a fresh full copy from nokia website. Did you do that already, or did you just overwrite the install?

i uninstalled everything i got off the cd then went to nokia.co.uk and got drivers and pc suite thingy

installed the drivers first, then the suite and it would connect but won't let me transfer pics or music...

i know i have bluetooth rather than cable seb but surely it works the same, when i open pc suite and click file transfer it brings up this- have you tried image transfer? if so does it bring up anything or is that a no go too?

image transfer just opens up the page where it is saying it is checking for media. thats all!

so if i download the drivers from nokia.co.uk and the pc suite program. which one should i install first?

not 100% sure seb but owuld have thought install the program first. Then do the drivers as and when the pc asks for them. Just download the drivers to a spare folder so you have them ready.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh all i want is my 182 on the front screen, to be able to transfer some toons and transfer the pics i take to my computer!!!!! is that too much to ask!!!!! if i can't get it to work it is going on ebay. lol

the N70 is a superb phone, have you thought about getting a bluetooth dongle for your pc? Im sure i have seen em for less than £15, much easier than having wires etc. And it works, I know you shouldnt have to as you already have a wire. But all the pc suite does then is piggybacks on the bluetooth in windows to connect to your phone and whenever your pc is on its always connected to you phone via bluetooth.

When you switch your pc on pc suite pops up on the taskbar and says "connected to ____ phone" and you're off..
