converting manual sunroof to electric

i was thinkign about this and had a quick butchers at my mk1 and i reckon all it will take is to get a feed to the place where the switch goes and replace the manual mechanism wiht a motor? any1 tried this b4?

You *might* find the wiring already in place?
There is sometimes a plug there.. just a thought.

Mines electric and it rattles worse than a manual and much more expensive to repair!!

My MK1 sunroof doesn't rattle much if you just tilt it upwards. It rattles a lot more when it slides backwards though..

Don't do it!

Sunroofs are troublesome at the best of times...messing around with them always makes it worse. If it doesn't rattle or leak at the moment leave it be!
