WTF? 2 hours to unpack 6GB?

Your HDD must be full and or fragmented to f**k, and/or fucked, and or your CPU is s**t and/or fucked. Basically you're either doing something spectacularly wrong, or you're doing it on a ZX81.

If I use mkv2vob to unrar/convert 5 or 6 Gb it takes about 5 mins. When I tried to unrar a rar'd mkv file of similar size it took hours using winrar evaluation copy.

Didn't bloody work either. I'm a noob with this type of shizzle.

My lappy is an 'Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 1.40 GHz and 2.0 GB or RAM, Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family'.... Was never the fastest kid on the block, but was a cracking bargain.

I didn't even know mkv2vob had any unpacking features. As for WinRAR taking hours to extract the archive, and then failing - have you tried another similar file? It sounds currupt to me TBH. Do you have any PAR2 files to check it?

The file is an 'unknown format or damaged'.

I'm a bit new to all this. I've done it about 10 times without fail, so was quite surprised when mkv2vob had been handling rar files, and then threw a wobbly and said it couldn't unrar,.. It worked ok this morning with a 5Gb file, well actually it buggered up the sound, but it was ok 2nd time round clicking some dts to ac3 tab...

Anyone found a quick way of saving big files to the ps3? Wireless is painfully slow, and streaming can be a bit stuttery on my setup.
