Coolant/temperature

I did a coolant flush/change a while ago and ever since, the car gets up to temperature fine but after a long drive on the motorway for example, the temperature needle goes slightly (and I mean only slightly) below half way where it's supposed to be.

When I did the coolant change, it didn't take the full 7 litres it's supposed to, so I'm thinking I didn't manage to flush ALL of the coolant out. It took just over 5 litres.

Could this be the cause?

You can't actually fully empty the system just be removing the pipes there is always some coolant left in the bottom of the block.

You could try bleeding the system again.

Probably CTS or thermostat related though.

Thermostat may need changing, although if you are motorway driving the air will cool it more than usual so the needle may move very slightly.??
:S
Personally though i would flush it out and stick a new stat in

Where's best to flush it from? I pulled the pipe off the bottom of the radiator last time. I'll change the thermostat as it looks like that's the issue here!

bottom rad hose off let it drain out take top rad hose off and stick the hose in to flush the rad.

And as mark said above take stat out and stick hose in there too.

there is two pipes going through the bulk head under the header tank i take these off also and flush the heater matrix out also.

Any holes a goal tbh
