Correcting scratches in plastic??

  CX-7,westfield,ix20
As topic really,

The tail lights on my mps are a little scratched and it's really bugging me!

I can only assume its from clearing the lights in the recent bad weather and the grit/cr*p from the roads has been sat on the lights and subsequently scratched the lights when they were cleared.

Is there anything out there that can bring them back up to scratch?(pardon the pun)

Will normal car polish do the trick or will it make the problem 10 times worse?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Dave

Cheers guys,

Will try the polish route first and see how that goes.

I'm no 'detailer' so the sanding etc option scares me a bit!

Cheers,

Dave

I did mine the other day, both front and back...

wet & dried with 1200 initially, then 2000 until the plastic was smooth...applied cutting compound and used the rotary to buff...Then used machine polish with the rotary to give the end result...Literally look brand new!

Try some G3 rubbing compound with a polishing pad. I used that combo by hand, it improved my tail lights but didn't perfect them!

Cheers, will compile a shopping list and give it a bash once the weather gives me a chance to give it a decent clean etc.
