cost for cams and omex

I'd reckon 2-3k mate. Why the omex? Are you using bigger cams than OE can take or just in prep for ITB's?

Omex will cost about £1500+ just for fitting and mapping, add some overpriced cams like Shrick and it's getting silly for what you get... go with cat cams and basic remap on stock ECU, unless like above you are going ITB's... in which case do the lot at once or your paying the labour twice so may as well go balls out...

cable throttle is far superior to the FBW setup so you gain that. You can also fit ITBs in the future(the only thing you lose money wise is the cost of a remap as OMEX would still need to be installed and wired for an ITB install in the same way as a cable single body)

2k with 12-15bhp if you hae got exhasut manifold match etc.

Agree on the cable throttle but unless your going ITB in the future or running wacky cams that the OE management can't handle I would'nt bother personally....

exactly ive already spent a fortune and i'll be lucky to sell it for 6k,gf's bro bought a 182 coz i loved mine so much and gf is wanting a racing blue in december and i dont know whether mine is going to be staying on the drive i'll have 3 years ncb next year and im just thinking i maybe pouring money into the floor

Imo cams and a remap is as far as i'd take a 172/182 tbh The outlay for further bhp just isnt worth it.

yea k-tec car was really quick but its gonna be 10k for everything to run top spec so 6k plus 10k plus cage and everything

Trouble is bigger and more powerful doesnt usually mean more fun. The clio is a fun little b road car and I couldnt think of much that I would want to replace it with.

I tried to swap mine with fmps spec c the other day but he didnt want a silver one. It would have been a nice car to own but the running costs would have been unreal.

if your saying it's too expensive etc then thinking about the cost of a Megane then there's probably not much difference... Megane will cost you to upgrade to and being a Renault will depreciate like f**k... proper mods will make the car worth more to the people after one that's already sorted imo, not as much as the conversion, but you'll get a bit back (more if put back to standard).
Also a Megane wont be anywhere near as fast as an ITB'd Clio... tested this out yesterday against one and it wasn't even close
