Couple of problems!

Bah, Had this car two days and its already giving me greif

Yesterday I took it out for a drive after work, the Battery + Stop light came on together, it still drove fine, everything worked, I took the radio out and it went off (Coincidence?) what are the reasons for this? It hasn't actually done it since yesterday, can I assume it got annoyed that it was a bit wet yesterday and the wiring got wet for the alternator or something?

Was fine today, but instead it went into limp home mode, that jagged heartbeat monitor type light came on and it did it to and from work.

Whats the best thing to do here? what can I change? Is it a case of plugging it in to a diagnostics and get the fault codes read?


Also on a side note, looking for service bits and eurocarparts don't have anything for my car online.. Do I have to get it direct from Renault? do they charge a fortune? Would I be better of with the Ren-Tech service at £100?

Mick diamond motors is your man about your limp mode question. He's a trader on here, or try the search method.

Renault don't charge a fortune IMO on serviable items, but can be extortionate about labour charges, but again there are many respectable traders on here that would sort you out.

Meh £60 for four spark plugs seems a bit steep for me, I've seen Bosch super 4's cheaper they will do the job surely?

I'll get it up to Ren-tech and see if he can tell me whats what I guess, spose its not going to be something I can find simply on my own. If still no joy i'll try Mick, thanks!

nope you MUST use the correct spark plugs, super 4's will cause all sorts of problems, Mike at Rentec will sort you

So I still have this battery and stop light problem..?

the car drives fine, I have wipers/radio/lights/climate control all on and drive and the lights are on and it doesn't die.

I just did an hour journey home, first 10 mins it was on then flickered off then on, another 5 mins and then it went off completley for the rest of the journey.

I'll leave it, but I just don't want to be stranded randomly lol
