Crack in Windscreen.

I have cracked the windscreen of my Mk2 172. Do you have to wait a while to get the windscreen changed, because of the gel pack, or will most window fitters have them as stock items/parts?

i wud imagine all the fitters keep the job lot in stock its only a mk2 2 screen with uv protection or somet. unless its a cup then u can fit a normal one or one without uv pretection as its slighltly lighter, but only reason its diff is cos it doesnt have leather

because it doesn't have leather? the dynamiques have heat reflective and they don't have leather. Maybe im just misundstanding.

How is the gel pack in the windscreen connected to the wipers?

Its a sensor 'attached' (gel) to the windscreen on the inside, and has wiring that goes up through the strip of plastic going up the top of your screen.
