creaking noise - help!

a friend of mine has an old clio (1.4 i think) and it creaks really badly when going over speed bumps, or under braking - any ideas anyone? shocks perhaps?

Probably worn shocks, probable the rears.

Could be the suspension bushes also.

cheers mate - its from the front tho, if you push the bonnet down it creaks like an old door!! my guess is shocks, £££

id say bushes as well all mine were replaced as i had this prob - im on a 172
