When i did my engine conversion on my car, the 2.0 litre subframe was bent , my 1.2 subframe is the same we just had to drill some more holes for where the fixings of the 2.0 engine go. So you should be able to get a subframe cheap enough as there are plenty of 1.2 and other types of clios written off about.

As said any subframe from 1998 onwards will fit, if its not a 2.0 litre subframe then it'll need two additional holes drilling which is no major big deal

reno/cliospares/garage all said 1.2 completely different. i assume they mean there is a large pricxe difference, and not one in my favour

They are the same mate, as said you just need to drill the holes where the 2.0 ones are on your current subframe.Just phone up for a 1.2/ any other model clio subframe, get it and take your subframe off and drill the holes on the donor subframe where they are on your current subframe, job done!.

ive got a 1.2 subframe just done a 2.0l conversion, ill check wha other bits r there aswel, u might b lucky, problem is im in the valleys boyo!

Saved £200 off the Reno price by getting them all from cliospares (new btw)! bit of a result.

Cost me a total of £498 for a wishbone, anti roll bar, subframe and an inner arch lining.
