Creating a heat map

  M2 Comp
Hi all,

Bit of a random one, I have some data consisting of a few thousand postcodes in a UK city that I am looking to create a heat map from. The idea is it will show where most people are choosing to live. Done some googling but haven't been able to find a way of doing it so thought I'd ask here in case anybody knows?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,

Tom

If you mean building from scratch then Python is a decent thing to learn for that purpose. If you mean "is there a tool I can dump some post codes in and get a heat map" then there's probably something by Google that you can use.

Datashine has the Travel To Work info (therefore home and work postcode data and mode of travel used) from the 2011 census data - I'm not sure if that would be any use or if there's anything else they've done that could help?

Although surely the answer to 'Where do people choose to live?' is just 'nowhere north of this line'...??
