Cruise Control, brake pedal switch not the problem

Cruise control aint working, and have replaced brake pedal switch however still have this problem.
I can get the green light for setting cruise control or the orange light for speed limitter on, however cannot set the speed.

Any idea's anyone?

Anyone have wiring diagram of how the cruise controlfunctions as this may help me?

Iv had my clio nearly 2 years and havent used cruise control once :S

Well theres only really the steering wheel switches to check/change as well as its an ecu function mostly so theres not a lot of components left to go wrong really. Theres the ECU and the UCH but they'd both tend to throw other faults up as well.

Take the brake pedal switch out pull the little plastic pin thing out as far as it will go then click it in 3 clicks. Fixed mine-didn't need a new switch.


It was doing exactly what you are describing as well, lights would appear on dash but couldn't set a speed.

I still have this problem. Got a clip check and it said something about a pedal sensor being broken. Changed the clutch and brake switches above the pedals and it made no difference.

Could it be the throttle sensor in the box above the throttle pedal?

So you switch it on and get the green light but when pressing the steering buttons nothing happens? Is that correct?

Is that the same with all the steering buttons or just the + and - ones?

Yeah that correct. Cannot set the speed up or down and also the reset and other button does not work...

Took mine to renault in the end as I was selling it. Turned out to be the 'Airbag ring' in the steering wheel. £196 to fix!

Whats the airbag ring? It shouldnt cause faults to the cruise control system should it?
Anyone have wiring diagram of the cruise control circuit?

Have a look here, I'm sure the airbag ring houses the connection for the cruise buttons.
