cruise control problem

hey guyz,
can anyone please tell me why the f**k the cruise control stopped working ??? the speed limiter is working fine but the cruise control isn't. the cruise control light is on but when i try to increase or decrease the speed with the +/- button nothing happens. is there anything i can do to fix this or do i have to go to the workshop ? i washed the engine today. could this be the reason of the problem ??? please guys if you can help me repond asap. this is a f**kin new car this thing shouldn't happen now. it's only 5 months old car.

thought it might be your switch but if light is on then it aint.

Has you tried again since, if car been off then go try again might have been a gremlin in the wiring

Did you put water into the engine bay at all?

yes i washed the engine with water. is that wrong ?

i opened the hood and washed by this water pressure gun.

i left off for a while. i'll go try again and come back. i have the clio 2 leds on the car. does this disturb the car electrical system ?? because a guy in the workshop told me that.

might have got water somewhere then, see if it fixes itself with drying...

my enine bay is very clean and all i do is wipe over it every time i wash car..

yeah but you live in uk. i live in qatar. very dusty weather so i had to clean it with water. it's the first time since i bought the car.

Just turn off ignition, turn on start up go for a drive it should reset itself.

Mine did this about a month back, orange limiter was lit up but no green cc, no matter what i did.

Give it a try................

i did. i turned it off like a thousand times and still. anyway it's at the workshop now. he tested all systems with the computer only the cruise control system had a problem. they are going to check all the wires. the car have a 3-year warranty so i'm not going to pay anything.

well they said that the problem is with the computer :-( . all systems are working fine except the cruise control. what is strange that the speed limiter is working but the cruise control is not. anyway the new computer chip is on the warranty i won't pay anything but it'll take alot of time because there's no computer chips here. they ordered it from france. it's going to take about a month for the part to arrive. :-( this can't be because i washed the engine, right ?

strange its affecting just cruise and not limiter then as they work on same system. Sure it aint the switch much more likely cause, and its easy to replace you can do it yourself.
