Cruise control/speed limit not setting

Car  172 cup
Hi folks,
Anyone technical out there know why my cruise control/speed limit is not working. I can switch them on with the dash switch and get the green/orange dash lights to illuminate but can't set a speed with the steering wheel switches.
Cheers.

Hi, tried that already from reading the other threads. Brake switch set ok, I've also re-set the clutch switch.

can you adjust the speed using the steering wheel controls? i.e, do the numbers go up/down on the computer display all ok but its just not enabling, or is it completely dead?

The dash seems to be waiting for me to set the speed but when I press the steering wheel controls they don't set the speed on the dash. I did have the speed limit working the other day but the cruise control wouldn't set at all. Both of them are now refusing to set again, the dash just has a blank space where you would expect to see the speed set.
Cheers

hmm ok. You should be able to put it in either mode and press the up/down buttons to set the speed on the dash. it wont activate below 20mph though. But by the sounds of it, your steering wheel controls sound like they aren't hooked up (or have a loose connection as you managed to use the 'R' button to enable it the other day)?

I had this problem. I also had a problem with my rear discs which brought up some lights on the dash. Took the car into Renault to sort, they did a clip test on all abs sensors/braking systems and sorted that problem out, it also had an added bonus of fixing the cruise control and speed limiter.

you should be able to set the speed though on the computer screen regardless of if the brake sensors are reporting as on/faulty.

No, I just had lines and like the OP says its wanting to be set but you can't set it.

Hi,
I guess it's off to find someone with a clip tester. My cheap OBD reader doesn't actually show any fault 'P' codes like you would expect.
