Cruise not working

Push the switch in, lights up green on dash and says SET......

But doesn't do anything after that regardless of what i push.

Any ideas people?

I'd say a wiring fault between the airbag ring and the buttons somewhere. Or maybe a faulty brake or clutch switch, although I'm not sure if it would light up the dash if this was the case, someone else would have to confirm.

Most likely cause is a clockring fault but really, a session on CLIP to see what signals are being sent when you actuate various parts of the system will pin point your fault.

See if it will set the speed limiter. If it will its the clutch or brake switch in my experience

If i push the down button on the dash panel the orange symbol appears but the switch pings back to neutral position and doesnt hold? If i push up the green symbol appears and the switch holds fine.

I dont know if this is normal or not as its the first 182 ive had.

My cruise switch kept on pinging back off whenever I tried to use it - I bought a new switch, 2 min job to it, now it works fine.

Thanks Mick but i've already taken it apart and fixed the rocker part but still doesn't work.

The green/amber light now stays on the dash but doesn't engage cruise.

We have Bosch KTS at work so will plug it in a see what the pedal switches are doing.

Do you know off hand what this guide is called exactly?

My cruise and speed limiter switch just flicks back to neutral when I let go sometimes. Sometimes it's fine.

Right, checked live data and both clutch and brake pedals are working fine.

Cruise control is active in the body configuration.

Still doesnt work.

Only thing left??? steering wheel buttons?

No, it'll most likely be the clockring as mentioned above

Its most likely to be the brake light switch. I had the exact same problem. It may say that the brake light switch is working fine BUT if it is too sensitive the cruise doesn't work, also if its not sensitive enough it wont work. I bought a brand new switch and adjusted it so the brake lights came on just as I touched the pedal. The cruise control still didnt work. so I made the switch less sensitive and it worked.

If you dont know already, the switch has a piston in it which you can adjust.
