Clio 172
Welcome to my project thread!
I'm returning to the wonderful world of Clio's with a rough round the edges 172. More on that in a second though.
My camera skills aren't the best but i will do my best, and project will stop for periods of time because i work away for a couple of months a year.
Used to own a 1.2 16v, here is a quick picture.
And here is a current picture of my daily hack. (picture taken at pvs last year)
Anyway enough chit chat here is a picture of my weekend toy. the overall plan is to track it but this will happen over the next year.
Car has a sportex exhaust (soon to be replaced) Sounds nice but looks cack!
i think spax coilovers (soon to be replaced) the adjusters have been completely mashed.
And recently refurbished 182 alloys, which are in mint condition.
So lets begin! Got myself on the tinterweb and ordered;
new aux belt
tensioner
oil filter
oil
cabin filter
Gear knob (old one fell off)
new power steering pump (old one was making strange noises)
sump plug and washer
Set about fitting that lot.
First up, sort out the gear knob that fell off on the drive home.
Before:
After:
Next up for the Pas pump tensioners and aux belt. Also found alot of bolts that weren't there or loose so took the chance to replace or tighten every bolt i could reach including the slam panel bolts which were rusty as hell. Didn't get many pictures when everything was out because it got too dark
Was a b**ch to get get in
Homemade detensioner Which i borrowed.
Kept at it through the night.
And finally finished off in the morning.
Clio has been tucked away for now but hopefully will get round to the service parts this weekend.
Also dug out some Sabelt Bucket seats i had laying around in my parts bin.
Will be fitting these when my new safety devices cage arrives in a couple of weeks.
So things to sort out next are;
order some subframes, side mounts and harness's for the seats.
sort out the service items.
and replace all the engine mounts with stiffer ones as the clios standards are bust.
Fit the rs badge to boot and de-badge the rest.
Replace the passenger wheel arch and plastic clips.
Strip the interior ready for roll cage
And have a dam good clean inside and out ;P
