Crunch in 3rd gear Clio 3 sport

If I slam my gear from second to third I get a crunching sound, if I change slowly there is no problem, can anyone tell me what this is? And how can I fix it.

You don't need to try and dislodge the gear stick housing when changing gear!

as above, your trying to change too quick for the synchro, and unless you want to strip the teeth off it and totally f**k it just don't do it = fixed

A "TL4" gearbox crunching between 2 and 3! I'm shocked to hear it (That's sarcasm by the way). If its not doing it now when gently selecting cogs but does it when rushed then its most likely not going to be long until its doing it all the time i'm afraid.

The synchros and bearings between 3 & 4 are always the ones that take the brunt on spirited drives and its also the weakest spot on the 6-speed Renault boxes to (Always has been). When did it last have a box oil change? If in doubt change it and inspect the old oil for signs of metal as you may be due a rebuild soon.

I did manage to get a 70% contribution for a customer with an '07 plate '197 here in the UK in August but i'm not sure how things are in RSA or how they work so you may have to try your luck with them.
