Crysis help. Come on, what is it I'm missing?

I've done the objectives. Destroyed both of the tanks outside, but now what? :S

The 'hostage' is the very woman stood in front of me. It's been a while since I rinsed Crysis, so I can't remember if there's something else to do?

Cheers,

D.

If you're standing at the petrol garage, with the building you rescued the girl from to your North West, if you're facing that way, head to the north eastern side of the map, there's a little water full, you climb up the rocks there.

(This is straight from my housemate, I haven't a clue).

Either that, or there's a glitch, and you've got to do it again, my HM had a glitch here.

Cool - thanks all - I'll try your house-mate's suggestion tomorrow Rob. :)

Is it wrong to suggest that the very first thing I tried when apparently stuck - was to shoot her too? ;) A non-fire crosshair appears when passed over friendlies.

Darren,

I hate to say it, but I replayed it a little while back also and had exactly the same problem, I even retried but couldn't get it to do anything different, from memory I don't believe there is anything else you have to do, so I don't know what's happened! I tried moving on the map up the waterfall (which is fine) and you meet more enemies, but the 'game' itself didn't move on (from what I remember)

Can't remember but there appears to be another way point on the map so head for that. Pretty sure there's no gay cut scene or anything. Mainly because there are no cut scenes in Crysis. Just move on and leave your chums to rape her?

The waypoint is the local army HQ, been there and ransacked the place, nothing to be found . . .

(apart from a load of dead bodies ;) )

I do actually vaguely recall being a bit stumped at this stage actually. I'm fairly sure it turned about to be a 'doh' moment when the penny dropped. If memory serves, I recall thinking it was bad design, and not an actual bug. I could be wrong. I would love to play through both games before getting Crysis 2. Speaking of which, I just downloaded the demo and it's mutli-player only. FFS do not want. I want to find out what it looks like and how it runs, not run around stressed out getting killed by geeks. I'll wait for the full game, which is a shame because I'll be out of the country from the day of release and f**k knows when I'll be back. Oh well, gives me a chance to earn some more coin with which to upgrade my shiz.

I should probably actually try to play through Crysis one day, I think I only managed about an hour of play

that's my problem with it Roy, the demo has really f**ked me off, I'm trying to see what the game is like whilst getting pwned by fat 10 year old Americans that sit on it all day long. Roll on the full game.

"Yes this is a known problem with the game that happened to me too. As said you have to make your way up the river by climbing up the waterfall. If you look on the map (press 'm') look for the river on it that meanders past the North of the base and flows towards the South East. Follow this until you come to a cave. Once inside the objectives will catch up and it should the game should be good again"

Never happened to me the first time I played it.

Just bought Crysis for 9.95 from Direct2Drive

I shall let everyone know my thoughts etc. I hope there's a VATS mod

Worked exactly like that m8. Just ignore what the game was telling me and proceeded to go up river. Got to the next part in the story and it carried on from there.

Thanks again. :)

So I thought f**k it, I'm gonna have a go on the Crysis 2 demo just to see how it runs before I die. No servers. Quick Google - demo is over. PMSL what a waste of time that was.

Run and gun doesn't work in Crysis

The ONLY frustration I have with Crysis - and I've said this all along - is the bizarre multiple hit scenario you have on targets at mid to long range. Aside from that, it's epic. :)

I'll just have to adjust and figure out how to use the different bits of the suits

It does seem like my energy doesn't last long enough. Does it improve as the game goes on?

Cookie, what are your thoughts on this? (Compared to say, HL2 for example)

This is one of them games that I've never got round to playing at all. It's only £6 in the local shop so just wondered if it's worth the purchase!

Why would it upgrade? It's not CoD multiplayer FFS.

I haven't played any CoD multiplayer since CoD2, so I wouldn't know about things like that

I was thinking more along the vein that you start weak and end up stronger

I haven't played enough of it yet Wilky to compare it to anything. The shooting seems a bit weak (so far) and the people on the boats shooting on to shore seem to have sniper assault rifles

It's well worth it for £6, it's a 90% game though tbh, (as in once you get to 90% done you may as well finish it there, as the ending is, well, quite frankly sh*te)

I didn't enjoy it as much as the main game, its good, but tbh, I can't even remember whether I completed it.

What's Warhead like?

I think you'd prefer Warhead overall tbh - I seem to recall a lot more shooting going on it that. Did seem to finish a bit abruptly iirc - but what there was of it was really enjoyable.

Crysis still has me in awe at times - I really cannot believe that it's four years old. I ran through what can only be described as a meadow last night and the grass moved in such a realistic motion with the breeze, etc. Then straight after, going through a wood and having a firefight with the Koreans - taking cover behind trees and seeing small branches and leaves fall to the ground as bullets pass through them.

And still...... switching from the stealth mode of the suit to 'maximum strength' and punching a Korean slap-bang in the face never tires. Great game.

Crysis is what you make of it TBH. It's only as good as the player. Many people run through it and complain that it's boring and linear. There is so much more to the game than that. You could argue that it's the game's fault for letting you play it like a gimp, but there we are. Play like a true hero shooter, taking advantage of everything the nanosuit offers, and you will be rewarded.

IMO the ending was spectacular. Warhead is also brilliant. The only criticism I could level at Crysis was that it went through a few stages of bugs. Namely the corrupt save files, and the hummers with no wheels after the patch that fixed that. lol.

Fallout 3 is a s**t game.

Set fire to someone, they carry on talking as normal. The flames go out and they carry on about their day. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Up to the bit now where Darren's game got stuck, mines done the same but I'm following the directions now.. just came up to a large group of soldiers, flanking either side the river... made them fire on each other :D
