You from Sheffield, Cuppy? Want to do some timing runs in your in your Cup with my AP22? Intersted in getting as many cars as possible to compare in Excel. Got Williams, VTS, 1.6 16v so far and Id like to add a Cup to it....

Rhys

Rhys i should be able to help on that front just give me a little notice as my weekends are busy!

Hopefully Ill have my new filter by then too!

Cuppy its not a chip its a whole new and different ECU whether the monkeys at Reno sheff will fit it is another matter!

However, check about your warranty first Im hearing conflicting stories about the warranty!

How you finding yur Cup they get looser as there worn in and there so much fun!

its fantastic mate but i cant get use to the power and always back off..had a 1.4 16v dynamique a couple of monthss back..everytime i put my foot down i sh*t my pants!!!!! cheers about the ecu...do you think its worth it..warranty is important

Well personally im undecided! There are many threads on here about the pros and cons of buying such ecu!

Just do a search and you ll see what I mean, Im about to purchase an ITG air filter to replace my standard one!

And then maybe the ECU but the power gain is about 5 bhp across the rev range, and legend states that it makes the little pocket rocket a little easier to drive!

Frosty has got one along with a couple of others! youll get used to the power and then youll want more, but arent they great when they come on cam!

is that it when my eyes are ripped out ha ha!!!!!let me know mate what difference the filter makes what about an exhasut system does that makre difference..isnt the cup exhaust special or something anyway?

  Nissan R35 GT-R

The general feeling is that and exhaust will obviously sound better, but you may only gain a couple of bhp from it. BenR says the standard exhaust is superb. I for one believe him - have you looked at the manifold - its a work of art!

A filter may sound a little different but Id be supprised to see any power gains from it.

The ECU is nice. The gains are minimul, but you must remember that the weight of the car is minimul too, so you could tell which car has the ECU and which hasnt even if you didnt drive it hard. The driveability (off the line especially) is vastly improved.

cheers mate i appreciate that thought the standard exhasut was a good one..can you graft a proper tailpipe onto the exhaust i.e from powerflow not for any sound just for looks

I agree that the standard manifold on the CUP and the standard 172 is very impressive. It looks like a very good job. My only gripe about all 172s is that they never allowed the car to have a "proper" exhaust pipe out the rear.
