Cup Failed MOT

  Seat Leon Cupra 290
had it in today, needed 3 tyres, so bought some eagle f1 gsd3, and also something like a brake compensator valve was not there when it should of been, whats that all about?

  Volvo S60 T5
what, the brake compensator link is not fitted to cups, the valve is there but the link is not.
Thats how they are supplied new!

  Volvo S60 T5
no, I used to be a tester until I started my own business. I can tell you that I would have not failed it.

Not fitted/not testable simple as.

  172 cup'd extreme
the hole is there on the swingarm for it but the cup's bias is set from factory, some 1.2's without abs come with the bar but as mike said cups dont, got the renault diagram if you want it pm me your email address u can take it into them

  Seat Leon Cupra 290
It failed because the brakes wernt effective enough and was put down to this, is this a fault with renault then?

  Lionel Richie
yeah someone over on Renaultsport forum had the same thing, in the END an RTE had to take the car to the test station

i know of 4 round my way that have had the same thing (my MOT place rang me up to ask!!!! LOL)

  Volvo S60 T5
ah if its brake efficiency thats failed, its probably just the rear pads that need changing, they rust to the slides on the calipers hence low efficiency.

And cheers Fred for letting me know.

i know its all well and good to just dismiss that its fine for an mot, but surely theres an issuse that its not braking to mot standard!?

  Lionel Richie
it not major, as mike says you probably have worn/rusty rear pads

£20 for new ones and about 1hr to fit them (easy to do yourself)

the Bias is factory set
